We often talk about international ERPs, able to operate effectively in the most varied contexts and realities of different countries. Nevertheless, what are the characteristics of an ERP software that is really able to ensure a competitive advantage everywhere?

It has to be first at all a multi-language ERP, to process in different languages information such as invoices, names, quantities, currency, price lists. The ERP has also to be multi-company and multi-legislation, to manage the legal and tax regulations of the various countries. Moreover, it is essential that it is able to integrate efficiently data from heterogeneous systems, including third-party software. Naturally, we take it for granted that a truly international ERP is modular, scalable, quick to implement and easy to use. In summary, in order to successfully follow projects without borders, an ERP software has to represent a solution with native international capabilities and preferably have a local integrator, able to facilitate the implementation phases.

The ERP Mago4 has all these characteristics, and it is in fact one of the pillars of the international presence of the Zucchetti Group, a force able to build relationships of trust with local players with whom to share principles and visions for a competitive growth.

The latest confirmation comes from an important test case, in a strategic country like Germany. Thanks to an important project started from basis, fully focused on Mago4 and conducted by Zucchetti GMBH for the Company Randazzo GmbH, the German scene enriches the solid functional localizations of the international ERP Mago4.

Randazzo GmbH is present on the German market with Gusto Italia, a small B2B and B2C sales company that offers Italian food products and specialties in the heart of the Rhine-Main region, near Frankfurt. The main feature of Gusto Italia is to be configured both as a physical market and as a sales system to the retailer, for export purposes too, thus presenting numerous and extremely different needs.

As part of the project, it was immediately clear that the logistics processes of Randazzo GmbH face the same challenges as large companies in the Cash&Carry and the retail sale of food products, especially in the Supply Chain and Warehouse Management sectors: having customized lists, managing lots and mixed pallets are just some of the most important needs. For the company, it is also essential the guarantee of a software capable of growing together with its business.

To fulfill all these requirements, Mago4 ERP has been entirely converted ex novo, also dealing with a series of apparently trivial aspects (adaptation of the fictions, which now follow the German model, import into Mago4 of all the inventory and related data). The ERP is now ready to perform a primary role in the management of master data and price lists, with the definition of prices and barcodes.

With Mago4, Gusto Italia has initially adopted all the functions dedicated to the management of the logistics area, with special attention to WMS and WMS Mobile and to the management of lots characterized by a precise DMD - Date of Minimum Durability. As the needs increase, the company has implemented a complete configuration also in the Supply Chain area, in a progressive and modular manner.

With the ERP Mago4 and the support of Zucchetti GmbH's experience, Gusto Italia quickly achieved a decisive optimization of processes and a rapid increase in production thanks to the drastic reduction of waste of goods, greater transparency in the processes and control of deadlines and the drop in consumption related to inventory logistics.

Mago4 has therefore played a crucial role for Gusto Italia and at the same time has been able to receive an important stimulus from the customer. In fact, a specific need for Gusto Italia, which is linked to the management of variable-weight barcodes, has been implemented within the software functionalities and transformed into a growth factor at the operational level. Mago4 now has a substantial improvement in the management of barcodes and is able to administer variable-weight barcodes within the active/passive cycle (ie relating to products, whose packaging does not have a predetermined and constant weight, the unit sales price of which varies according to the final weight).

The German case is exemplary: Mago4 is able to face the challenge of international development by supporting a seamless operation both of companies that want to project themselves abroad, and of already localized realities, combined with an implementation through a "trust- based network " branded Zucchetti.

SP 2 for Mago4 2.0

The update of Mago4 2.0, related to recent italian regulatory developments, is available for download.

The new SP 2 of Mago4 2.0 contains several improvements in different functional areas; as always, the update incorporates the latest regulatory developments. In this case in particular the SP adopts the adjustments required by Italian Government for the CU 2018, a tax document that taxpayers must produce to certify the income from work.

These changes concern the communication of some contents of the CU 2018: title, personal data and data of the self-employed. The transmission of CU is scheduled for March 7, 2018. With its SP 2, Mago4 2.0 therefore updates the procedure already existing in Financials Accounting, to allow you print on the new models the information that, as before, are extracted mainly from bills and supplier details.

In Financials Accounting area, Mago4 2.0.2 also establishes a new menu titled Old Declarations, where the tax declarations no longer in force have been moved. It is also possible to parameterize the link to the Revenue Agency website, while the Accounting Entries Management have updated the default and sample parameters data.

About integration with Zucchetti Infinity: Mago4 2.0 SP2 improves the use of I.Mago configuration wizard, which becomes even more user-friendly. In addition, a specific improvement allows you, in presence of several companies, to choose whether to use the management of mail on the Mago4 side or the Infinity side.

The Mago4 SP2 2.0 also improves the interface of the punctual synchronization panel, clearly distinguishing the available information about synchronization between the ones regarding the status of data and those relating to the technical data of synchronization. Also the synchronization status signal is more readable and immediate, thanks to the adoption of a green smiley to indicate "everything is OK" and a warning triangle in case of error (with possible text message).

Romania M4 2.0.1

The 2.0 release of Mago4, released at the beginning of December, as well as its SP 1, arrived just over a month later, refine several processes of the administrative area, basic for the Romania localization.

Among the most important improvements made by the ERP Mago4 2.0 and specifically designed for Romania localization, you can find the Issued Bills of exchange and Checks management, introduced on the liabilities side, to pay suppliers. This issuing procedure not only allows you to issue one or more checks or bills of exchange - specifying for each one number, amount, expiry date, place and date of issue - but also to use previously created blank checks / bills of exchange, or to transfer to a supplier a check / bill received from a customer. It is possible to create blank checks or bills of exchange to be completed later, during the issuing phase.

Based on the amounts indicated, the procedure therefore proposes an automatic selection of the entries to be closed; similarly, the issue, payment and outstanding procedures also generate the related accounting entry.

The subsequent SP 1 of Mago4 2.0 also introduces the management of Split VAT. In this regard, it should be noted that starting from January 2018 in Romania the new Split Tax system enters into force, and becomes mandatory for some VAT subjects. This system requires that the payment of the invoices takes place in two separate transactions: the taxable amount must be paid into the "standard" bank account, while the VAT Tax must be paid on a special tax account that each Vat subject must have. These specific accounts, opened by the Country for each VAT subject, are regulated by special rules for the creation of the IBAN, and allow only the collection and payment of VAT. In case of cash, debit or credit card payments, the company receiving the invoice total in payment must transfer the Tax amount in its own Tax account within 7 days from receipt.

Mago4 simplifies everything, setting whether the company is subject to the Split Tax system, and identifying which suppliers are subject and which customers are excluded. Furthermore, Mago4 allows the Clearing to propose the taxable amount of the invoice when the type of payment is bank transfer, and the invoice total in other cases. A new Tax Clearing procedure allows you to post the collected/paid Tax directly on the Tax account specified into the Preferences; it is also introduced a report that allows you to calculate the Tax amount related to documents collected/paid for the total, to be transferred to your Tax account within 7 days.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

As usual, at the end of the year we draw up our conclusions... in wishing everyone happy holidays, here are the Mago4 numbers for 2017.

During the year that is about to end, Mago4 has evolved in many ways: with 9 product updates, including 3 major releases and 6 service packs, the total is over 420 improvements in all functional areas...more than one a day, in practice!

Generally speaking,the Administrative area has been up-to-date, as is mandatory, with the regulations of the various countries localized by Mago4 ERP. Moreover, the past year saw the birth of new features implementations and advanced tools for Logistics and Manufacturing, reporting tools and the "core" development of your ERP.

Mago4 flexibility has played a role on the international markets, making the business management increasingly performant on multiple scenarios; furthermore, the philosophy of development aimed at constant updating has guaranteed for 2017 something like 130 functional improvements on the product, specifically targeted to localizations.

Mago4 certainly does not stop here! Also for next year your ERP has many new features planned: so it's time to renew the 2018 appointment on this same blog, taking the opportunity to wish everyone Happy Holidays!




Reporting StudioTeam

The key tool for reporting today boasts a team entirely dedicated to it.

Everyone knows the importance of an effective reporting system to improve business, a tool that is at once functional and user-friendly. Many will also know that Reporting Studio, the sophisticated reporting system already integrated with Mago4 and that is used by the applications developed with TaskBuilder Studio, meets all these requirements, equipping the company with an absolutely transversal report maker, able to answer any need in every business area.

On the contrary, there will be few people who know the existence of the newly-created Team Reporting Studio, dedicated to this powerful reporting tool.

The new team is currently composed of 6 people, including programmers and analysts, who are concerned with making the instrument grow and that have been chosen by the technical management to devote themselves to the development of the new  interface of Woorm (the historical report generator, prior to the birth of the Mago4 suite).

The team is growing, not only in numbers but also in relation to the individual knowledge and skills, aiming to make Reporting Studio the report maker par excellence, placing it amongst the competitors on the reference market.

In addition to the development of the tool, the team aims at a total and strategic proactivity, tending to a close collaboration with partners. Aimed at meeting needs, and not limited to an aseptic customer-supplier relationship, the partnership then exploits the classic channels provided to interact with partners: participation in the community, receiving proposals and suggestions, feedback and follow-up.

Focused on maintaining the current version and developing the second release of the product, the team Reporting Studio holds important plans for the future.

Release 2.0 of Mago4

From the beginning of the month the 2.0 release of Mago4 is available, with improvements in every functional sector and a step towards the future ... in the cloud.

The main innovations introduced by the release 2.0 of your ERP Mago4, as well as the minor interventions, concern all the functional areas, and the menu.

In the Financials area, for the Romania localization, Mago4 introduces the management of issued checks and promissory notes, with which it is possible to pay suppliers. This issuing procedure allows not only to issue one or more checks or promissory notes, but also to use previously created blank checks / promissory notes, or to transfer a check / promissory note received from a customer to a supplier.

The Logistics introduces the reading of variable weight barcodes, useful for managing codes that also contain a variable weight / price. The forms are now available in language, with tabulated shipping information and description based on the reference dictionary. In addition, Mago4 makes available to all countries a specific Lots traceability report, to highlight expiring articles.

There are also many innovations in the Manufacturing area: from the possibility of loading on intermediate routings steps, to selecting the withdrawal deposit for a particular component, up to the setting of a Scrap and Second rate default code, going through the improvement of subcontracting, the progress of work phases and the management of the accounting type in production in Romanian localization.

In this trend lies the main value of the new Mago4 ERP release: it represents a sort of bridge to the future of Mago4 in the cloud, thanks to a technologically advanced reinterpretation for many M4 suite tools. An approach that provides a back-end technology oriented to the cloud, which will follow in the next releases, while still maintaining the philosophy and compatibility of the desktop tool. In this evolution, all the tools with which you are equipped follow you, breaking down previous constraints and bringing new management objects.
